David was born in Chicago, IL and raised in Chatham, MA.

One of his first jobs was shellfishing, specifically for little neck clams -- a great job for a high schooler that taught him about the value of hard work and self motivation due to his having to get up at 4:00 a.m. to go to work. When he was 12 years old, David played golf for the first time using a set of right-handed clubs. He shot 168. He realized that to improve, not to mention learn to enjoy the game, he would have to use left-handed clubs however and so it was that from the time he began using “lefties”, he was addicted the game and would play 36 or 45 holes every day during the summer.

He attended Methodist University in Fayetteville, NC where he earned a
B.S. degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Professional Golf Management. He also had the opportunity to play on Methodist University’s golf team and to play on the nearby Pinehurst golf courses.

Being in the PGM program at Methodist provided David with the opportunity to experience internships at golf courses such as Eastward Ho! Country Club, The Club at Cordillera, Pine Needles Golf Club, and Nantucket Golf Club. His most recent position was as First Assistant Professional at Nantucket Golf Club. After three seasons there, he was referred to Ocean Reef Club and an opportunity to learn a whole new side of the golf business.

His hobbies include any sports he can get outside to play, which includes a new found enjoyment of tennis.
