A Gem For Carysfort Kitchen
Chef Betania Salles has moved from Gianni Ristorante to become the Chef de Cuisine of Carysfort Kitchen. After
opening Gianni in December of 2014, Chef Betania has led Members through an elegant experience of authentic Italian fare for almost seven years. Betania is proud to leave Gianni in the capable hands of Chef Andrea Rodella. Chef Andrea comes to Ocean Reef with an impressive culinary background and he hails from Northern Italy. These two wonderful chefs have been working together at Gianni during the transition. We recently had a memorable dinner at Gianni and had the pleasure of savoring Chef Andrea’s flair for Italian cooking.
It is always a joy to meet with Chef Betania. Her creative spirit and zest for cuisine and life in general is captivating. She comes from a family of chefs and restaurant owners from all over the world. Betania credits her mother for creating this talented family where each child learned to cook when they turned eight years old. Now they all cook together. Chef Betania is excited to direct the Cooking School along with the Season’s Specialty Dinners. Her years of experience will bring a new diversity to the cuisine at both, plus she will do staff training and mentoring. With years as a chef at an Indian restaurant, four restaurants in Brazil, family restaurants in Barcelona, regional Italian experience, and then cooking in Israel at a Kibbutz, Chef Betania has an impressive background in world cuisine to share.
Members will be spending more time with Chef Betania and will certainly benefit from her wide range of talent and
her enthusiasm. Her goal is to extend and enhance her impact on fine dining at The Reef. She encourages Members to review the upcoming Taste Brochure, take part in cooking classes, or schedule a family or friend
event at Carysfort Kitchen. Betania arrived in Miami, just for a visit, and we are thankful she has continued her illustrious career at Ocean Reef Club that she considers her home for the past nine years.
