A True Golf Experience

As golf clubs go, Ocean Reef Club’s traditions go back more than half-a-century to 1955, when the first 9-hole course opened. Today the Club boasts two 18-hole courses, a rarity in the Florida Keys – even among standard golf clubs.

Although the Hammock Course and the Dolphin Course offer distinctly different tests of golf, both feature scenic vistas and an enjoyable challenge for players of all levels.

The Dolphin Course

The Dolphin Course features fairways winding past tamarind, coconut palms and mahogany trees as well as other exotic landscaping. This is the epitome of island golf in the Keys. Glittering water hazards delight the eye and call for accuracy. This island golf course allows more margin for error off the tee, with quite generous fairways. The real test on this 6,600 yard par-71 course arrives when you get to the greens.

 

 

Award-Winning Golf Shop

In addition to Ocean Reef’s impressive championship courses and teaching Academy, there is an award-winning pro shop that caters to all the golfing needs of members and their guests. The Golf Shop boasts the newest styles in ladies’ and men’s apparel along with the latest technology in golf equipment. Comprehensive staff services also include full-service club repair, offering regripping as well as shortening and lengthening of clubs. Other thoughtful services include bag storage and golf shoe re-spiking and polishing.

The Hammock Course

The Hammock Course is partially situated in a wildlife sanctuary of mangrove and tropical hardwood hammocks and contains many rare and endangered species of plants for players to observe and enjoy. This ocean golf course is considered the more scenic of the Club’s courses and is a true test of target golf. With fairways meandering through this natural hammock and with water hazards on fourteen of the eighteen holes, concentration becomes key to a good round. This par-71 course is 6,100 yards in length and offers a magnificent collection of memorable holes.

Golf Dress Code

 

MEN:
Shirts with collars and sleeves, slacks and Bermuda length golf shorts are considered appropriate attire. Shirt tails must be tucked in.

WOMEN:
Blouses are considered appropriate attire. Bottoms must be no shorter than 2” above the knee. Sleeveless shirts must have a collar and be tucked in.

NOT PERMITTED:
Tank tops, T-Shirts, fishnet tops, cut-offs, sweat pants, bathing suits, tennis shorts or athletic shorts.
