Bob Manzo, Ocean Reef Club Chairman
Bob Manzo was born and raised in New Jersey. Bob graduated from Rider University with a BS in accounting. He is a CPA and began his career at Arthur Andersen. He later founded a financial consulting firm specializing in financial and operational turnarounds, as well as a private equity firm where he currently serves as general partner. He also serves on a number of public and private company boards, including Visteon Corporation and Axion, Inc.
Bob met his wife Cindy of 34 years while they were working together as accountants. They are blessed to have a 26-year-old daughter, Elizabeth, who works in New York City and is also a proud Legacy Member at Ocean Reef.
Bob and Cindy were introduced to Ocean Reef 10 years ago by close friends, the Weilands and O’Connors. “It only took us a day or two to realize this was a community for us,” said Bob. “We quickly became Equity Members and have spent the last eight winter seasons at ‘The Reef.’”
Shortly after Bob and Cindy became Members, Past Chairman Mike Sullivan, Don Waite, and Finance Chair Larry Brady asked Manzo to join the Finance Committee. He has also been a member of the Ocean Reef Board of Directors for the past five years, serving as Vice Chairman for the past two years, as well as Chairing the Finance and Membership committees and serving on the Executive, Capital Projects Steering, Audit, and Airport committees. Cindy has also been involved in a number of community activities, including co-chairing the 2018 All Charities Auction. Bob says he and Cindy believe it’s important to get involved in the communities where they live.
“Ocean Reef Club has become home to my family,” said Manzo. “We count our blessings each and every day that we are a part of this amazing community. We are truly grateful to be here.”
Ray Larkin, Ocean Reef Club Vice Chairman
A Philadelphia native, Ray Larkin received his BS from LaSalle University, was a captain in the United States Marine Corps from 1970-75, and began his career in the medical device industry in 1976, which he is still involved in today. He and his wife Mary Ann have been married since 1970 and have three sons (all Legacy Members!) and four grandchildren.
Ray and Mary Ann were first introduced to Ocean Reef by Ray’s parents, who had been coming to Ocean Reef since 1984. After visiting several times, Ray Jr. and Mary Ann became enthralled with all that Ocean Reef had to offer. They decided to become Equity Members and bought their current home in Angelfish Cay in 1998. They will both tell you there is nowhere else in the world they’d rather be.
Ray and Mary Ann are both very involved in the community – they enjoy the Tennis & Games Center, Member Fitness Center, golf, and the many friends they’ve made at Ocean Reef. Mary Ann is the 2020 co-chair of the All Charities Gala, and Ray currently serves on the ORC Membership Committee, Finance Committee, Pickleball Committee and Nominating Committee, and is on the board of the ORC Medical Center Foundation. In addition to his service at Ocean Reef, Ray serves as the chairman of two publicly traded medical device companies, Align Technology and REVA, and is on the board of two private medical device companies.
2019-2020 Board Goals
Manzo also outlined items on the Club’s Board agenda highlighting both a focus on the environment as well as the community both inside and outside the gates. He first stressed the importance of being good neighbors both through the work of All Charities and maintenance of strong relationships with Monroe County. Moving inside the gates, he noted key objectives to ensure members and their guests are provided a first-class living experience at a fair and reasonable cost to all, and that all associates are provided a work experience that is personally fulfilling and offers opportunity for advancement.
