Honor Code Development

As part of their approach to implementing character education, The Academy at Ocean Reef is currently developing their own Honor Code based on the following values: honesty, compassion, courage, commitment, respect, leadership, kindness, and being your best. Following several collaborative discussions with faculty and PTO members, the initiative was kicked off with an assembly led by Jerome Murphy, Head of School and the faculty.

The students are presently meeting in small groups with their teachers to discuss each value. Their dynamic conversations are helping each student develop greater understanding of each value and how it relates to their lives.

As The Academy explores character education and the development of their own Honor Code, we commend them for their dedication to this task and look forward to hearing more about its final form.
