Introducing the 2020 ORC Nominating Committee
The Ocean Reef Club Nominating Committee is an autonomous committee charged with selecting the annual slate of candidates for the Club’s Board of Directors. The goal of the Nominating Committee is to provide the best leadership possible. Working together, the committee members carefully consider a variety of factors in their selection process; including leadership, past participation in Ocean Reef committees, use of the Club, financial acumen, known to various membership constituents and most importantly, whether they have the time, energy and a real commitment to serve on behalf of the Membership.
Members of the 2020 Ocean Reef Club Nominating Committee are Committee Chairman Teresa Holmes (Immediate Past Chairman of the Board), Bob Manzo, Current Board Chairman, and Ray Larkin, Vice Chairman, along with Members at large Lisa Desmond, Matt Fritter and Bill Rowley.
Lisa Desmond
Lisa and her husband David first visited Ocean Reef in 2013 and loved the Club so much that they joined it that same weekend. Throughout the year, they divide their time among Ocean Reef, their home in Miami Beach, and travel, which Lisa loves because she grew up overseas, primarily in Asia. She is a graduate of Southern Methodist University and completed her MBA at New York University. While living in New York City, Lisa worked at two investment banking firms, Wasserstein Perella and Lazard. At Ocean Reef, she serves on the Boards of Directors of Marina Village I & II and ORCAT, and she is a Trustee of All Charities and a member of the Founders Society of the Ocean Reef Medical Center Foundation. Lisa enjoys boating and fishing and she is a member of the Ocean Reef Yacht Club and the Bonefish Bonnies.
Matthew Fritter
Matt and his wife Katherine first purchased their home at Ocean Reef Club in 2016. They moved to Ocean Reef full time in 2017 and became involved in the community immediately. Matt serves on the Ocean Reef Club Finance Committee, the Rod & Gun Club Board of Directors and as an usher for the Protestant Congregation. Katherine is the PTO president at The Academy at Ocean Reef where their two daughters have attended. Abby graduated from The Academy last year and currently attends St. Mary’s School in Raleigh, North Carolina. Anna is currently in the 6th grade at The Academy. Matt is the founder and President of American Residential Investment Management, a value-add focused, private equity real estate firm. Matt is also very involved with the Men’s Golf Association and enjoys spending time at the Card Sound shooting clays course.
Bill Rowley
Bill was first introduced to Ocean Reef in the 1980s through his relationship with the Young Presidents’ Organization (YPO), which he’s still an active member of today. Having known many YPO leaders who were ORC Members, he decided to join the extended YPO family at Ocean Reef and became an Equity Member in 1994. He has since owned in Pumpkin Cay, Harbor House, and most recently, Sunrise Cay. Bill and Katie split their time between Ocean Reef and Ohio. Bill is active with the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame & Museum, previously serving as the Chairman of the Board, co-chair of two Induction Ceremonies, and on the Foundation Board. In 2018, Bill sold his company, Mercury Plastics, Inc., after owning it for 40 years. He dedicates most of his time as Founder and Chairman of Health network – a non-profit organization he founded in 1991. Bill loves Ocean Reef and the opportunity he has to explore his recreational passions. He has been a member of the Rod & Gun Club since 1994, as well as a member of Card Sound Golf Club, and is an avid hunter, fisherman, golfer and pickleball player.
The nominees for the Ocean Reef Club Board of Directors will be announced in early March.
