Sitting on the Ocean Reef Channel
by Jody Steele
The Raw Bar is now open seven days a week from 11 AM-9 PM. Relaxing on the Ocean Reef Channel and watching the world go by with a delectable drink in hand and a crab cake on your plate is one of those better moments.
Seating anyone?
Barry Reed, Manager extraordinaire for 33 years shares that the expanded Raw Bar now has more seats than ever before. The new Tiki Hut with ceiling fans and televisions allows for social distancing with a view. To get up close and personal, the “dockside” seating at tables for two is almost “in” the channel. Traditionalists can sit inside the screened in space. Or a seat at the bar is a big favorite.
Menu highlights
All the popular items have returned with steamed shrimp, the bowls of chowder, the Mahi sandwich, and daily specials. New choices include a cracked conch salad and a gluten-free harvest vegetable salad. The Maine lobster Thursday dinner with soup, corn on the cob, baked potato, and Key Lime Pie will start on November 19th with reservations a must. Stone crab is now in season and available with the delicious mustard sauce. The casual atmosphere is perfect for families and the children’s menu is always a hit.
Barry and his professional team have worked together for many years and are ready to welcome Members back to their larger space with the view on the water. So along with your scrumptious meal you might see a dolphin swim by and certainly will be gazing at the boats that run up and down the Channel.
