Summer is Happening on The Reef
Another Reef summer full of Club traditions awaits, and our Summer Happenings brochure is here to help you plan your adventures so you don’t miss a thing. Whether it’s watching fireworks on the beach, playing into your competitive side through fishing, golf and tennis tournaments, or exploring the summer’s many dining delights, every Member has their favorite summer tradition at The Reef just a golf cart ride away.
Sprinkled into the mix of long-standing traditions, the Club continues to introduce newer and equally as exciting happenings along the way. These are the Parties in the Park, expanded Equity Member Get-Togethers, bingo nights, even the return of a Fishing Village Street Fair.
With the return to a “normal” summer to look forward to, the next several months at The Reef will look like anything but those of the last two years. The vibrant offerings are ready for the taking for any member of the family and any and all interests.
Look out for an email from your Club today with a link to the Summer Happenings brochure online, and stay tuned for your printed copy to arrive in the mail in the coming days. In the meantime, you can access the brochure by visiting oceanreef.com/SummerHappenings.
Summer Camp is HERE!
by Jody Steele
The “Unique Summer Camps” at Ocean Reef Club are about to begin. Weekly camps begin on June 6th and run through August 12th. A great variety of 24 different camps, some scheduled for more than one week, give Members an enormous choice for kids age 5-18 along with three camps just for adults. There is definitely something FUN for everyone.
Chris Nelson, Assistant Director of Recreation, and Kyle Lynch, Recreation Manager, recently shared an update on the “Discover One, Discover All” program for 2022. They are pleased to have veteran camp counselors and Reef sports professionals returning along with college recreation majors completing their internships at The Reef. The team is exceptionally talented and very qualified to lead each camp offered. They are also pleased that this summer the renewed playgrounds, the revitalized Lagoon, and the expansion of the Field at Four Corners will add more great space to the camp facilities. With already 500 campers registered, it will be an exciting summer program.
As an update, it is important to note that Reef Club Kids is on the weekly line-up for all ten weeks for campers 5-10 years old. A few other special interest camps include SCUBA Dive Camp for ages 12-17 with dive certification, Safe Boating Camp for ages 12-18 with afternoons on the water and expert training in boat handling, and Nature Exploration Camp with trips to two National Parks in South Florida. The new Brain Teasers Camp for creative thinkers and the recently added Croquet Camp are also popular choices.
