Wonderful, Wonderful Waterside
by Jody Steele
As if this could not get better, Town Hall Waterside has done it again. This casual outdoor eatery under an open tent or outside under the stars is just perfect for families and friends. Great social distancing and a huge variety of cuisine creates such a fun dining experience. Now the menu has been updated and there are additional tasty options to try on those nights you just want to take the easy road.
Last Friday, with two young grandkids in tow, we headed out on their favorite mode of transportation to the “big tent with the lights”. The trick is to find the table, order a pizza for the kiddos, and grab two glasses of wine for the grandparents all in one swoop. Mission accomplished and with a table near the cornhole boards, we were all set. The kids even tried a few beanbag tosses and felt pretty proud of themselves.
The kitchens have now expanded their choices and we were eager to try the new fare. We were not disappointed. The REEFusion was our first stop and we ordered the duck steamed buns, the pork belly buns, and the vegetable fried rice. It was all simply delicious. The BBQ was next on the list and hearing that we had to savor the new smoked chicken wings, we jumped in and loved them and the sauces. The Raw Bar station is also a wonder with stone crabs, peel n’eat shrimp, and ceviche on the menu.
Still at Waterside are the popular poke bowls with salmon, tuna, or veggies and the taco station with chicken or steak tacos along with tortilla chips served with guacamole and salsa. It really is a little trip around the tasty world of Ocean Reef and oh, so comfortable.
Town Hall Waterside is open Thursday-Sunday from 5-10 p.m. for your dining pleasure. No reservations.
