Wynn’s Keeps Shopping Safe
Since its Ocean Reef doors opened in the fall of 2014, Wynn’s has only grown more and more popular. Wynn’s provides so much more than just groceries, from shelves stocked with basics to gourmet to fresh produce, meats and custom sandwiches, making it a hub of activity for the entire Community. As the pandemic continues and we approach the holidays, the ability to social distance and stay safe is even more paramount for Wynn’s shoppers.
We spoke with Jim Sapp, Wynn’s Manager, about safeguards the Wynn’s team has applied to ensure the safety of all of their customers and employees.
Grocery Pickup & Delivery
Did you know you can get your groceries delivered to your home without stepping foot inside the store? In fact, you can get just about anything delivered, from bakery items to premade lunches to hot meals and more. Wynn’s will do the shopping for you, bring it to you in your car or golf cart, or for a minimal added charge, will have it delivered to your home or dock. To place your order, email wynnsreeforders@yahoo.com with what you’d like, with as much detail as possible. As an example, prefer your orange juice without pulp? Include “no pulp” in your description. Also specify whether you want to pay through credit card or Member number and whether you’d like your food delivered or by curbside pickup. If you’re doing curbside pickup, you can call Wynn’s when you arrive and they’ll bring your order out to you. Simple! If you have questions about what items Wynn’s carries or you want to know what’s on the menu each day for the hot meals and soup, call 305-204-4005 to find out.
Online Sandwich Ordering
The Wynn’s online sandwich ordering platform is a convenient way to order your deli sandwiches and minimize the amount of time you must spend waiting in the Market. To preorder your sandwiches, visit wynnsatoceanreef.com from your computer or phone and choose from any of their menu options – like the Plymouth or the Tuscan – or create your own from scratch. Preordered sandwiches can always be picked up at the Bakery Counter. However, if you would prefer to pick them up curbside or even have them delivered, call 305-204-4005 or email wynnsreeforders@yahoo.com to let them know. If you want to pick up your order between the hours of 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., Wynn’s asks that you place your order online by 10:30 a.m.
Lunch Grab ‘n Go
Starting this December, Wynn’s plans to have a new grab ‘n go lunch offering. Premade sandwiches and other grab ‘n go items with a fixed price will be available for quick pickup outside. This new offering will help reduce the number of customers inside Wynn’s Market during the busy lunch hours.
Currently, there are similar grab ‘n go items available inside Wynn’s at the deli counter ranging from tuna and chicken salad sandwiches, to steak and chicken quesadillas and premade salads. If you’re looking to avoid the lunch-hour rush, Wynn’s suggests scheduling your shopping outside of the peak hours of 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.
Safety Measures
Wynn’s has implemented several safety and sanitizing measures as well. The first is the hiring of Belfor Restoration Company to conduct high-quality sanitization of everything inside the building. The company uses professionalgrade disinfectant solution that lasts up to 90 days and kills 99.9% of viruses, including the Coronavirus. The initial sanitization was done three months ago and the latest just last week. Wynn’s also brings all shopping carts inside during these heavy-duty sanitizations so they can benefit from the long-term effects as well.
Additionally, shopping carts are fogged each night with a professional peroxide solution approved to kill any virus or bacteria, and sanitizing wipes are provided at the entrance to the store for Members to wipe down their own carts and baskets before use. Carts are also separated by signs outside indicating whether or not they’ve been sanitized. Employees disinfect the Cashier’s belt and credit card pad after every use, as well as case handles, doorknobs, and other high traffic areas frequently.
Customers and employees are all required to wear masks when inside Wynn’s and for those customers that forget, a mask is provided. Wynn’s employees are all temperature checked daily prior to beginning their shift. Hand sanitizing stations are available throughout the store and Plexiglas has been added to the registers as well. To help customers properly social distance themselves while waiting in line to check out, Wynn’s has placed decals on the floor indicating where to stand to stay six feet apart from the person in front and behind you.
“The Club values the quality and convenience awarded to our Members by having Wynn’s Market readily available on property,” said ORC President Alex Tonarelli. “Wynn’s has been a great partner and they take the health and safety of The Reef’s community members very seriously.”
Tim Wynn, Owner of Wynn’s Market, said they are continually looking at what new practices they can implement to maintain the safest possible environment in their store. He said, “Our Wynn’s team is committed to safeguarding the store so that Wynn’s Market remains a comfortable shopping experience for everyone.”
